The Ultra-Fast Scanner (UFS), launched by a Philips incubator, radically changes how hospital- and pathology laboratories work with preparing, imaging and analyzing samples. Frencken not only managed the overall engineering and executes project management and final assembly, but also shared the initial development costs and therefore also shared the risk in bringing an innovative new product to market.
Our customer, a leader in cardiovascular and diagnostic systems, and an integral part of these systems is the patient table that accurately positions the patient beneath the scanner. Frencken builds customer-specific patient tables to order with a very fast turnaround – just three days from receipt of order to the delivery of a plug-and-play product.
Our customer focuses on image quality for its medical systems, and with products like the cardiovascular system, the mechanical stability of the frame is a critical factor. Frencken is experienced in engineering and producing large mechanical products to very tight tolerances, and the L-arm is an example where the expertise in precision welding, laser-cutting, conventional machining and fabrication all come together.
